Physicians and dieticians teach their patients with diabetes to properly monitor their blood sugar levels, to take the right amount of insulin, and above all, to maintain a proper diet. Proper diet partnered with medication has been the prevailing wisdom when it comes to controlling the disease of diabetes. However, recent studies have shown that with diet alone it may be possible for patients to not only maintain their healthy glucose levels, but to actually reverse their diabetic condition, without medication.

There are over 10,000 new cases of diabetes cited each year in the United States. This disease, which affects close to 10% of the entire population has continued to claim hundreds of millions of dollars in research money and close to 200 billion dollars in lost economic output. Diabetes, is a condition where the body is either unable to produce enough insulin which regular the levels of glucose in the blood, or when the insulin is produced the body is unable to respond to it.

Diabetes when complicated or when blood sugar levels are not properly maintained for long periods of time can cause destruction or dysfunction of these nerves. This can cause reduced sensations and even reduced blood supply to the lower extremities. Obesity usually accompanies Diabetes. This in turn can cause an excessive strain on the loco motor system.

Causes

A similar diet based plan for diabetes reversal takes the low-fat model to a higher level by focusing on the vegan diet. In this plan, diabetics are encouraged to cut out all animal proteins, and animal-based proteins, including cheese, eggs, and animal fats. This diet is based on cultures in which the consumption of animal fats is relatively low, and in which diabetes is almost non-existent. Studies have indicated that when patients follow a more plant-based diet their bodies become more sensitive to the insulin being produced, whereas a fatty diet can cause the body to be more resistant the insulin.

In a basic explanation, the food you eat becomes sugar that will be taken to the muscles, tissues, and organs of the body by means of the blood stream, to be transformed into vigor and liveliness. Subsequently, particularly if the meal was high in carbohydrates, you will have high levels of sugar in the blood stream, which prompts the pancreas to discharge even more insulin until the excess sugar is absorbed by the cells.

Important levels of insulin in the blood lead to a sequence of biochemical reactions with extensive consequences. As well as prediabetes, it can lead to a diversity of severe health conditions, such as the group of enlarged danger for cardiovascular disorders called Syndrome X (metabolic syndrome) and PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome), a primary cause of female sterility as well as menstrual abnormality, excess body and facial hair and skin conditions.

Treatments

The pancreas produces two hormones insulin and glucagon, which help the body balance blood sugars levels. The healthy function of the pancreas is important to a person's ability to process sugars and starches, a poor functioning pancreas can lead to diabetes.

The following yoga exercise is also beneficial to the function of the pancreas and is better for a beginner than previously mentioned poses.
Lie on your stomach with your arms up over your head, palms facing each other. Your legs should be straight and comfortably apart. Slowly raise your legs and arms so that your weight is shifted to resting only on your abdomen.

The ushtrasana or camel pose, and the dhanurasana or bow pose, have specifically been found to help the function of the pancreas and benefit people with diabetes. However, theses two poses may be challenging at first.

Patients must be counseled by their physicians to be aware of these problems. They must be encouraged to take extreme care of their feet. Always wash the feet with a mild soap or antiseptic solution. Never leave the feet wet, because fungal infections thrive in damp areas. Pat dry the feet with a soft towel.

Shoes should be selected with utmost care. Always wear socks inside shoes. Open shoes are a strict no for these patients. Even the tiniest wound should be immediately attended to. Nails should be trimmed regularly. Never allow them to in grow into the nail bed. Always check shoes before putting them on. Even tiny particles or gravel can irritate the skin and lead to infections.

Bleeding gums is common for the millions of Americans who are experiencing gum problems. Amongst these gum problems are gingivitis and periodontal disease. Most of the time, it is the result of the improper removal of plaques in the gum line.

There are some other serious medical conditions associated with the gums bleeding such as diabetes, leukemia, platelet disorders, heart disease and pancreatic cancer.

There are signs which indicate a person is having a periodontal disease. Amongst these are: having a bad breath or bad taste which are hard to get rid of, swollen and bleeding gums, difficulty in chewing, sensitive teeth, gums which are unusually unattached to the wall of the teeth, unstable fitting of the teeth whenever biting and unstable fitting of partial dentures.

Smoking, diabetes, poor oral hygiene and stress are amongst the reason of the increased risk of periodontal disease. There are prevention and treatment for people going through this disease. They are advised to at least visit their dentists at least once or twice a year for dental cleaning. Daily oral hygiene is also advised. Whenever a person brushes or flosses, it decreases the possibility of bacteria build up in the mouth.

Keeping a clean mouth and clean teeth is healthy and allows for easier eating. It can also increase confidence when smiling, laughing, and talking. Taking care of one's mouth is important at any age, but senior citizens should take special care as they are at especially high risk of experiencing complications with teeth and gums.

We discuss some common problems that senior citizens may have with mouth care. Senior citizens should be aware of these problems, so that they can actively prevent, identify, and treat them. Caregivers should encourage healthy behaviors and assist the senior if they need medical or dental attention.

The secret to the perfect white teeth is regular care of them with a good toothbrush (need not be expensive, just good and suitable), suitable toothpaste and the correct technique to brush your teeth. Blood from the gums after a thorough brushing isn't what we are talking about.

There is a need to undergo checkup at first sign of bleeding gums so dentists may be able to know what is causing it. If the result isn't as severe, the patient may undergo minor treatments such as dental cleaning. If the doctor was able to determine that it is something related to a more serious case, preventive measures are done.

Brush your teeth twice a day. Once in the morning and again before you head to bed. Brush thoroughly and take your time. Many people in the morning are in a rush, but try to do a very good job and do not rush yourself.

To have perfect white bright teeth brush them, but gently; the gums are delicate. We don't want white bright teeth with bleeding gums. Make your teeth bright and healthy too. Take care of them and they'll serve your chewing job for years without a complaint.

Instead of experimenting with our own popped up ideas consulting a dentist has better results without a doubt. To see a doctor with regular intervals can not only keep your precious teeth under care but also help keep them healthy without an extra effort.

So are you ready to start your journey towards white bright teeth?

Do:

1.    Brush your teeth twice daily.
2.    Use a good toothbrush that's gentle to your gums.
3.    Visit a dentist once in two months and get your precious teeth an expert's advice.
4.    Not all people have similar arrangement of teeth, so instead of copying one's style of brushing the teeth, ask your dentist for the correct technique.

Don't:

1.    Force your toothbrush on your teeth.
2.    Prick your teeth with sharp pins for cleaning them.
3.    Try every other brand of toothpaste or toothbrush available in the market. That won't help.

Alcohol abuse is the excessive consumption of alcohol disregarding the detrimental consequences on the mind and body. If a person regularly consumes alcohol to get mental relief, then he is an alcohol abusive drinker and not an alcohol addict. While it is possible to convince an abusive drinker of his detrimental condition and impel him to go in for treatment, the same can be a tough job as far as an addict is concerned.

One of the primary causes of alcohol abuse is stress, which can be of two types- developmental and situational. Complete cure of an abusive drinker is possible, provided it is identified and treated at an early stage.

Just like we have "workaholic", we also have an alcoholic. What I am attempting to say is that once you are given over to bottles of alcohol, you are an addict. A workaholic is often engrossed in work without viewing time.

He or she is never weary of working. The same thing applies to an addict. As soon as you can take alcohol without control, you should know that you have problem.

Drinking alcoholic beverages during social functions is a common practice among adults. Occasional drinking poses no treat to health but sometimes the occasional social drinking can progress over time into alcohol abuse. Alcohol abuse has varied effects on our bodies and chronic drinking can pose major health risks.

Alocohol Effects

The human brain is made up of about 100 billion nerve cells (also known as neurons). Everything that we think, feel or do is the result of electrical signals passing back and forth between neurons.

These electrical signals require the help of chemicals called neurotransmitters in order to pass from neuron to neuron. Scientists have identified around 60 different neurotransmitters so far and tell us that there are probably many more yet to be identified.

The most common type of antibiotic-drug prescribed is penicillin, but this is not the only antibiotic your doctor might suggest. Typically, antibiotics are safe, with only very mild side effects, if you experience side effects at all.

Some common side effects, no matter what kind of antibiotic-medication prescribed to you, are diarrhea, fever, and nausea. In general, side effects happen because the antibiotics kill “good” bacteria along with bad bacteria. Usually, you don’t have to worry unless the symptoms are extremely severe.

Alocohol Control

But the lesson learned in the Coachella Valley holds true also for restaurants and hotels in Long Beach, San Diego, Orange County, Santa Ana, Anaheim, Irvine, Huntington Beach, orange, Costa Mesa, Carlsbad, Santa Monica, Newport Beach, Buena Park, the Inland Empire area of Rancho Cucamonga, Riverside, and Temecula and up the coast to Ventura, Oxnard, Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo as well.

Until you make the decision as to what YOU will find interesting and fun versus downright childish and stupid, you are a prisoner or a sheep in a herd. It also means you are definitely not in control of your life.

If you are not in control of your life - I mean here emotions, decisions and lifestyle choices then you will I am guessing almost certainly suffer from self-esteem issues, unhappiness and maybe anxiety and depression. I believe the more control we have over our lives, the better we feel about ourselves and our lives.

Many people wonder why some people can consume alcohol without any consequences, while others drink without limits. One reason has been linked directly to genetics. Another factor has to do with the environment and peer pressure, while a person’s brain chemistry can play an integral part in how a person drinks alcohol. In most cases, it is a combination of the above.

Typhoid fever is caused by Salmonella typhi bacteria. It occurs due to unhygienic condition, open sewerage, flies and of course, illiteracy. The disease is very common in developing countries and can affect anyone. The incubation period is between 3 days and 60 days.

The most common symptoms of typhoid fever besides those mentioned above are stomach pain, chills, weakness, fatigue and slow heart rate. Antibiotics are used to kill the bacteria but of late, antibiotic resistant strains of bacteria are developing making the treatment protocol more difficult.

Developing countries are now taking measures to educate people on the importance of hygiene to stem the spread of the disease. In addition, governments are improving infrastructure so that open drains and sewers no longer pose a threat.

However, a lot still has to be done to contain the disease, especially in the Indian sub-continent, Africa and other Asian countries.

Vaccines are available for preventing typhoid but it is not recommended until the individual may have potentially long exposure to unclean areas having contaminated food and water. This is because there are various side effects for the vaccine and also thorough investigation has not been done on the immunological complications that can arise by the vaccine.

The side effects of the vaccine include vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, fever, headache and malaise. In fact, they have similar side effects as the fever itself. Some of the other disorders include rashes, hypertension, serum sickness and urticaria. Patients are also found to experience neck pain, tremor and loss of consciousness.

Mary Mallon came to the United States from Switzerland to work as a domestic caretaker for a family in New York. Soon afterwards, the whole family developed horrible fever, diarrhea and were very sick. Her doctor diagnosed typhoid fever.

After she was caught for causing her tenth known outbreak, she was incarcerated and spent the rest for her life there, dying 31 years after her first epidemic. Typhoid Mary carried the typhoid fever germ in her gall bladder for the rest of her life, even though she, herself, was not sick.

One hundred years ago in New York City, at least 10 epidemics of typhoid fever were traced to a single cook who was later called Typhoid Mary. Recent medical reports tell us how the epidemics could have been prevented and what could have been done to help her.

Causes

When this rod-shaped bacterium is ingested, it binds itself to the wall of the intestine and penetrates the wall’s barrier, and is conveyed to the liver or spleen where it can cause symptoms of food poisoning – diarrhea, gastroenteritis, typhoid fever, and occasionally death.

Anti-malarial drugs are necessary if you are planning to visit an area where malaria is prevalent. Make sure you buy enough pills to last your entire trip. However, you should start taking the medication a week before you depart, and then during your entire trip.

Make sure that you receive inoculations for diseases like diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus, polio, measles, chicken pox, mumps and rubella. In addition, get inoculated for diseases like cholera, typhoid and hepatitis in case you are traveling to a country with poor sanitation.

The best way to avoid being infected is to make sure that foods that should be cooked before consumption are cooked thoroughly. This applies especially eggs and pork. Never use raw eggs in home-made recipes that are served uncooked or baked, such as salad dressing or mayonnaise.

The first symptoms of typhoid are much like influenza. Fever, headache, back-ache, loss of appetite, chilliness with occasional nose-bleed, diarrhea or constipation are the common complaints. When these conditions continue for a length of time typhoid is suspected.

Treatments

The disease is transmitted from an infected person to another through the fecal oral route via contaminated food and water. Therefore, unhygienic and unsanitary conditions lead to the spread of the disease.

Finally, authorities caught Mary Mallow and told her never to work in a restaurant or handle food prepared for others. The epidemics continued, but she would then disappear before she could be caught and reappear later in another restaurant under an assumed name.

Scientists have developed a special type of coating that helps certain medicines pass through the stomach undigested. This coating was developed in order to help deliver treatments for such diseases as typhoid fever to the small intestine where they would have the opportunity to help. Peppermint oil capsules are now available with this 'enteric-coating' property.

The most common complication is perforation of the intestinal wall, necessitating surgical intervention. One should suspect the possibility of this complication if the patient develops severe abdominal pains. Unless the hole is closed the patient will die of general peritonitis.

Another serious complication is hemorrhage. This may not be very great but on the other hand it may be massive, necessitating transfusions.

Diabetes is one of the most lethal diseases in the world claiming hundreds of millions every year. It is reported that over 10,000 new cases of diabetes are recorded each and every day in the United States.

Diabetes is a condition where the body fails to produce enough insulin, the hormonal substance that regulates blood sugar or glucose. In the absence of insulin, blood sugar levels can rise to dangerous or even lethal levels.

Diabetes is the disease that someone else always gets. Or so we would like to believe. The fact of the matter is that diabetes is now essentially an epidemic worldwide, and it is getting worse. It has a direct correlation with our standard of living: The more overweight the population, the more diabetes occurs.

Diabetes is a chronic disorder. It is caused by hormonal disturbance or improper functioning of the natural endocrine system of the body. Every diabetic patient is advised to do regular exercise by most of the physicians.

It is a pleasure for me to share my thoughts and give information on how a diabetic can reverse diabetes type 2 with confidence and change of lifestyle. It is awful to hear that millions of people are pitiably unaware of the fact that they have pre-diabetes or diabetes.

Diabetics need to take special care when it comes to their feet. Diabetes can weaken the bodies ability to fight back against injuries and germs, which is why these tips should be followed for healthy feet.

When you were first diagnosed with diabetes, were you given instruction on how to take care of your feet on a daily basis? Chances are that you were given limited information in this very important area.

The most common reason is because you and your health care professional were mainly focused on getting your blood sugar down to an acceptable range.

There has been a lot of discussion regarding smoking and what effects it has on diabetic individuals. Proponents of smoking argue that it has a minimal effect while opponents allude as to its hazardous nature. Either way, this is a live discussion that demands real answers to the millions of diabetic smokers across the country.

One example of this type of reverse diabetes meal plan centers around eating a low-fat, high-fiber diet. One study of this type of diet, out of UCLA, showed that after three-weeks of adhering to this plan, fifty percent of participants were no longer classified as diabetic.

There are two types of diabetes. These types are Type I diabetes and Type II diabetes. Type I diabetes is where the pancreas cannot secrete insulin but in Type II diabetes the pancreas can secrete some insulin. In the first type insulin must be injected.

End stage renal disease, coronary heart diseases, cataracts, and skin diseases are some of the complications in cases of severe diabetes. Diabetes must be prevented in the starting stages so that it doesn't end up causing complications. A sedentary lifestyle must be avoided. The patient with diabetes must take part in some physical activities daily.

The early symptoms of type 1 diabetes and type 2 are usually identified by excessive urination, excessive thirst and often followed by weight loss.

The excessive thirst comes from to much glucose in the system and the extra work the kidney has to do. If these symptoms worsen it is time to pay a visit to your doctor so you can receive the correct treatment for your symptoms.

Diabetes can sneak up on you over a period of time and it is good to educated yourself on what symptoms to look for with pre-diabetes so you can do your best to prevent this silent disease from taken over. You should also get as much information as you can about how blood sugar level affects you.

When a person is diagnosed with diabetes it is important that the diabetic gets a good understand of the disease and participate in the help to control the blood sugar level. This will assist in far less complications later in life.

A study of women with high blood pressure has revealed that they are more likely to develop type 2 diabetes. Other things such as smoking, high cholesterol level and lack of regular exercise can have harmful effects.
